Lynn Powell
“Don't mind her, Barnsburry. She nicknames everyone.”
—Matilda Maddock
—Matilda Maddock
A bright and outgoing young woman rumored to be the next Michaelangelo in skill. A bit of a rebel, she's often found sleeping on park benches, under bridges, and over at other people's houses due to her strict homelife. Lynn's often equated to a stray cat, in that she'll do whatever she like whenever she likes, marching to the beat of her own drum with very little consideration to what people at large think of her.
Appearance
An olive-skinned girl with a tendency to dye her hair all kinds of colors; her natural haircolor is dark brown, but it's rare to see her without highlights or a full dye-job going on. She has bright green eyes and usually has a cat-like grin on her face, owing to her mischevious nature. She has a birthmark on the inside of her right wrist and the tattoo of a feather beneath her left breast.Out of everyone in The Blossom Society, Lynn's made the most modifications to her school uniform, decorating it with a number of different buttons and pins of all kinds of colors and symbols. Every time her uniform jacket rips or tears, she has it sewn back together with a bright new color, making her stand out immensely from the rest of the student body; this goes double in summer, since she insists on wearing it no matter the weather. During the winter, she wears an extra layer of a navy blue hoodie beneath it. Her school bag is a leather satchel, though it looks old and worn; she has to clean charcoal and other media off it pretty frequently, and polishing it is a pain.
Outside of school, Lynn dresses just as loudly and brightly—maybe even more so than at school. She's always wearing a jacket and rarely dresses in anything truly girlish-looking, opting to dress more like a tomboy in stark rebellion of her family's wishes. Every so often, she'll wear a long shirt with a pair of patterned leggings and call it a dress, much to Matilda's annoyance, but she retains the same colorful palette and jacket theme. Around her sister Olive, however, she dresses a little more modestly and the way she's expected to; she wants to be a good role model for her younger sister most of all. Like Emily, her clothing tends to have some markings on them, though it's generally the side of her pants where she's wiped her charcoal-stained fingers.
Personality
"Bold, brash, and belongs in the trash" is exactly the sentence Lynn would use to describe herself and insist that everyone thinks the same, but most people would only agree on the first two adjectives of that sentence. Lynn's the type of person who goes her own way and rarely listens to rules, finding them a waste of time and, most importantly, way too restrictive. This is partially why she gets along so well with Sophie, with the other reason being that both of them are in love with someone seemingly unreachable. Overly physical and free with her affections, some people—like Matilda—describe Lynn as 'Bohemian,' but Lynn just thinks that everyone deserves to be loved and to be in love: no more, no less.History
An ordinary girl from an ordinary family who isn't interested at all in going into business or law and joining her father's firm. She's been drawing since before she could walk and has won numerous prizes for her works of art over the years, though it's never her intention to win—just to share the joy of making art and connecting with others without words.Flower Motifs & Meanings

Relationships
- Family She likes her mom, though she thinks she could stand to speak up once in a while, and has a difficult relationship with her dad. She adores her younger sister, Olive, to bits and pieces, and does her best to be a good role model for her when they hang out.
- Matilda Maddock One of her closest friends, or she was; their relationship became a little more complicated last year. Lynn still loves and considers Matilda important to her, and Matilda feels the same way.
- Sophie Rickett Lynn's sort-of-not-really girlfriend. They're extremely close and overly familiar with one another, but they're both aware of each other's feelings. Even if Lynn was in love with her, though, she wouldn't act on it.
- Alice Windsor The object of her abject affections, Lynn is determined to get to know Alice whether she likes it or not. While she doesn't normally try to force people to talk, she gets the feeling Alice'll never say anything serious unless she's pushed to, and so she keeps pushing.
- Emily Rause A fellow Art Club member in the society; she understands Emily's feelings, even if she isn't sure where they're coming from or why she has them. Unlike Matilda, who has a hard time watching Emily dance around Sophie's feelings due to her closeness with the latter, Lynn only nudges the issue when she thinks it's being thought too hard about and doesn't deride Emily for her actions otherwise.
- Charlotte Barnsburry The new girl in the club, Lynn absolutely adores her; she thinks she's great fun and thinks it's cute she has such an obvious crush on Matilda. Charlotte's biggest supporter by far.
Trivia
- She tries a new art discipline every year in order to expand her horizons, but her favorite medium is charcoal.
- Her favorite place to sleep is in Sophie's lap because of how soft and comfortable it is. Her second favorite place to sleep is in class.
- She dyes and cuts her hair herself.
